How to display lens type?

I usually apply to _all_ my images the lens correction performed by the lensfun package, with the plugin GimpLensfun. But I use four different lenses on my camera, and your exif-viewer does _not_ show the Lens Type metadata, also if it is available in the image (checked with exiftool). Since I have Mac OS X and the distribution "GIMP on OS X", I am not able to compile your plugin, so it is useless to browse and modify your source code. Do you have any solution for viewing the Lens Type inside GIMP?
